Rosie O`Donnell is a strong advocate in the world of women and public issues. With her straight-forward antics and her hear me roar voice, she is constantly in hot water but gives a view well worth looking at. Rosie started her comedian career in local New York standup clubs, later getting her first gig off from Star Search and eventually earning her eleven Emmy Awards. Rosie starred in feature films such as baseball favorite, A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, Beautiful Girls, among others before starting her own show, The Rosie O`Donnell Show. Rosie has also been publicly open about her sexuality since she came out in January 2002 and has been highly supportive in the gay community since then. Rosie has been the center of many heated discussions, especially since her short co-host career on The View. The final battle, with co-host Elisabeth Hasselback, about the cowards who sent our troops to [this] war, brought the show its best ratings yet. Rosie and her partner, Kelli Carpenter, live in Nyack, New York with their four children.
